Walking With Jesus - Matthew 14:27-33

Walking With Jesus - Matthew 14:27-33

“Peter walking on water” Matthew 14:27-33. I always just looked at it as having faith in the storm but feel like God was saying there is another way of looking at it. Sometimes he is calling us and doesn’t want us to be afraid to walk to him, by which I mean being saved accepting him as our own personal Lord and Saviour. The events of Peter show us we don’t need to fix our lives before coming to him. We can come to him as we are, with the storm raging around us in our imperfect state. Most people rule out giving their life to him because many have been made to believe “I can’t until I live a cleaner life” or are just simply afraid of what truly accepting him means for their lives. It’s a misconception and why I want people to realise the importance of building our own personal relationship with him starting by reading the bible for ourselves. Peter shows us to have faith in Jesus and step out of our comfort zones. I want people to begin to see that the great people in his word had some of the very same flaws we all struggle with however he still loved and used them mightily. When walking with him our faith will waver, and we will become weak and still make bad decisions and choices, as much as we try not to because the bottom line is none of us are perfect. But he will take control, we can’t do it without him. I want people to know, we don’t need to have it all together and that even though we are physically in the world faced with our tests, trials and storms his everlasting grace love and mercy will always stop us from falling just as he did with peter on the water. As long as we keep our faith in him, faith without good works is dead. True faith in him is the evidence of salvation. Our faith in Christ will always result in good works. It is of the LORD's mercies that we are not consumed, Because his compassions fail not. They are new every morning: Great is thy faithfulness. Lamentations 3:22-23

Accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour.

If you would like to be saved you can simply say with a genuine heart

Lord Jesus,
I know that I am a sinner and often fall short of your glory. No longer will I close the door when I hear you calling me. By faith, I gratefully receive your gift of salvation.
I believe you are the son of God who died for my sins and rose from the dead on the third day. Thank you for your forgiveness of sins and gift of eternal life.
I turn from my sins and invite you into my heart and life. Thank you for the assurance that you will walk with me. I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour.
In Jesus name Amen.
